Consultancy and training services available to police education, health and social service professionals regarding the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

The provision of services in the following areas:

     Child protection training. The aims of the course are as follows:

    • to raise awareness of the seriousness and prevalence of child abuse issues,
    • to introduce the types and possible signs of abuse
    • to explore appropriate courses of action and responsibilities for making referrals.

     The learning outcomes will be:

    • identification and appropriate responses to instances of suspected abuse,
    • a basic understanding of the child protection issues,
    • how to gain knowledge of local procedures and contact details.

 

    Skill development in the following areas:

    • child abuse investigation,
    • multi-agency agency working,
    • techniques relating to serious non-accidental injury to children and suspicious sudden infant death,
    • management techniques when dealing with difficult parents during child abuse investigations
    • the delivery of evidence in court.
    • communication and video interviews with children or vulnerable persons.
    • evaluation of systems and processes relating to the protection of children and/or vulnerable adults,
    • independent investigations or case reviews.

Clients include independent schools in Cambridge, London, Peterborough, Plymouth and Woking. The University of Sheffield and York College. Cyprus Police, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Republic of Slovakia Police and Republic of Slovenia Police.
