BACKGROUND
Nigel is an experienced trainer in policing skills and a specialist in matters relating to child protection, inter-agency working and associated matters. Nigel’s experience comes from his police background. As an operational detective he spent many years investigating many child sexual abuse cases and investigations into non-accidental injuries to children, including sudden infant deaths and incidents of fabricated and induced illness. He developed efficient and effective working practices with other agencies. Nigel’s expertise was recognised nationally when he was seconded to Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary as a police inspector for the first national multi-agency ‘Safeguards for Children’ inspection. Nigel is a skilled facilitator combining his practical experience with academic research and implements training based on the ‘real world’. He is an accomplished speaker and given presentations at a number of police and multi-agency conferences across the UK and international events in Sweden and Germany.
